It appears Martha Stewart was taking a dig at a column that appeared in the New York Post, which criticized her for mistakenly declaring reporter Andrea Pair dead in her Netflix documentary. The lifestyle mogul had a humorous and dismissive response to the “scathing article” about her.
On November 7, Stewart attended the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, where she addressed the Pacer’s column, titled, “Hey Martha Stewart, you rejoiced about the death of a Post columnist – but I live, B***h!” Which was a response to something Stewart said during her Netflix documentary, Martha,
“(Paesser) wrote this very scathing article today New York Post – My favorite newspaper. So, maybe more people will be inspired to watch my documentary,” Stewart said, generating laughter and amusement on stage.
In the documentary, Stewart recalls the time surrounding his insider trading scandal in 2004, when he was questioned by the press and media, blindly assuming Pesser was dead. Payer was at the forefront of publishing criticisms against Stewart.
Martha said in her documentary, “The woman from the New York Post was there, looking very smug. She had written terrible things throughout the whole trial. But she’s dead now, thank God. And nobody had to put up with that nonsense. Wouldn’t have to endure writing all the time about who she was.”
This prompted Pacer to publish a response of his own, in which he called out the TV personality for making an “unrecognized appearance”, which he did after the reporter was surprised when his name was omitted in the documentary.
Pacer was no doubt troubled by the shocking news of his death that Martha had accidentally publicized. She told Vulture, “Someone alerted me to it; they had seen the documentary. So of course I had to watch it. And I said, wow. I’m just amazed. She’s so successful, she’s been through so many things.” has passed away, and why she should focus on me is kind of baffling.”
However, it is still unclear why the cookbook author thought the reporter had died. Martha Stewart’s documentary, Martha, is available for streaming on Netflix.
