Meta is somewhat behind in the ongoing AI race in Silicon Valley. Competitives such as Google and Openai dominate the market, which has put further pressure on the company. Therefore, to bring things back to the track, and better, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has allegedly taken AI cases into his own hands. He is allegedly leading the recruitment of a hand -selected team of elite engineers and researchers, which he applies as Superintendent AI.
According to The New York Times, Zuckerberg is not only investing billions, he is getting possible recruitment in his homes, restoring the layout of the Meta office to bring the team closer to it, and offers the compensation package of compensation that allegedly reaches nine figures. For reference, the nine-day compensation package in the US dollars is approximately $ 100 million (over Rs 800 crore).
The report suggests that Meta’s push to make superintendent is associated with a data-lobbling firm Scale AI, led by Alexandra Wang, is associated with a multi-unarmed dollar investment. As part of the deal, Wang, who is just 28 years old, is expected to help join Meta and create a new laboratory. Meta is not only investing billions, but also removing researchers from leaders of Openi, Google and other industry, with seven to nine-nine packages. Some of them have already agreed to join. Interestingly, earlier reports said that many rivals had poisoned engineers from Mata first.
In fact, the AI division of the meta has large-scale internal shake-ups after a string of failures and infiltration. Once a leader in AI Research, after setting up his first AI lab in 2013, the company has recently lost prominent employees and has faced an inquiry to overheps the benchmark and release the underperforming model. While Meta has tried to maintain developer goodwill by opening its Lama model and integrating Meta AI in Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and even its ray-ban smart glasses, the results have not matched publicity.
Zuckerberg is now disappointed with these recent AI deficiencies, especially after internal dissatisfaction on the performance of the Lama 4 and its ambitious Behemth model was delayed. In response, according to another report by Bloomberg, it suggests that Zuckerberg describes the inner sources as the founder mode, meaning that it is aggressively involved in the Minutia of Team-Building for this new division, called the Superintendent Group.
The goal of this new division is to make artificial general intelligence (AGI), machines, which can perform at or over human cognitive levels, and then integrate that power in the ecosystem of the meta, from chatbot to smart glasses. The group is expected to include approximately 50 aristocratic members, leading the recruitment process with Zuckerberg, even launched a dedicated WhatsApp chat, called the “recruitment party”, which is to poach the top level talent.
While Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) remains a speculative target for many companies that have no clear roadmap for success guarantee, Zuckerberg believes that Meta should lead the charge. Even he recently declared the course for the future for Meta this year, and he seems determined to do it in his own way, a hand -designed engineer at a time.
