Margaret Qualley recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss her latest film project, The Substance. During their candid conversation, Fallon asked Qualley about the ongoing rumors that she has landed a role in Adam Sandler’s upcoming film Happy Gilmore 2, to which the actress confirmed that she has gotten the role, saying, “Those rumors are true.”
Qualley said getting a role in the Happy Gilmore sequel was “the best thing that ever happened to me,” admitting that even though it’s “a small part,” the actress added, “I basically have a dark background, but now I can die happy.” She called the original 1996 comedy starring Sandler her “favorite movie,” mentioning that he was her “first crush, I love Adam Sandler. Like everybody, I think he’s the greatest of all time.”
The actress revealed that when she found out about the upcoming Netflix sequel, she was eager to do anything to get a role in it. The actress recalled, “I saw the announcement that Happy Gilmore 2 was coming out, and I immediately emailed my agents, and I said, ‘Anything is going to happen for this — no part is too small. Please. I want to be a part of this, I beg you. Please. Anything is going to happen for this.'”
Following his comments, Jimmy Fallon showed viewers an exchange of messages between Jack Antonoff and Sandler. In the conversation, Sandler asked, “Does your wife play golf?” to which Antonoff replied, “Yeah, she’s really good.”

Margaret Qualley said her husband Antonoff “lied” about his golf skills, saying, “What a great husband. And I can’t play golf,” adding, “He lied for the sake of the family. I’ve never played a day of golf in my life. I’m terrible.” The Poor Things actress admitted she “took a few lessons, but mostly, I’m still terrible.”
According to the report, Adam Sandler began production on Happy Gilmore 2 in New Jersey earlier this month. Additionally, Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will reprise their roles for the sequel, along with new cast members such as Bad Bunny, Benny Safdie, Lee Trevino, and Travis Kelce.
