Released on January 30, the police drama continues the franchise that previously received critical and commercial praise, but the third installment has received a lukewarm response from both audiences and critics alike.
As per initial estimates, the film took a slow start at the Indian box office on Monday, earning Rs 2.15 crore on its fourth day. The franchise, based on Mukherjee’s portrayal of police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy, is known for focusing on important social issues. However, the performance of the latest chapter differs from the strong box office performance of its predecessors. The total domestic collection in the first four days has reached Rs 19.65 crore, with the total Hindi occupancy recorded at 11.27 percent on Monday.

The film addresses the sensitive topic of girl trafficking, aiming to create social awareness through a thriller format. Despite this, its box office numbers have remained in the single digits since release, highlighting the gap between the franchise’s established reputation and current audience attendance.
Directed by Abhiraj Meenawala, who is known for his work on Loveyatri, the film stars Rani Mukherjee in the lead role along with Mallika Prasad, Janaki Bodywala and Mikhail Yawalkar. Prasad plays the role of the main antagonist, Amma. The reported production budget is around Rs 60 crore, although this figure has not been officially confirmed.
