Actor Manisha Koirala has strongly reacted to the ongoing protests in Nepal, calling the violence “black day for Nepal”. The statement has come in large -scale demonstrations under the leadership of General Z protesters against corruption and the government’s social media ban became fatal.
Koirala shared a disturbed image of a blood -soaked shoe on social media with a note in Nepali. The translated message reads, “Today is a black day for Nepal – when bullets react to people’s voice, demand resentment and justice against corruption.”

At least 20 people were killed and more than 250 were injured, as security forces set fire to the protesters near Parliament on Monday. The protests that started online were triggered by the KP Sharma Oli government’s decision to ban 26 social media platforms and increase public anger on corruption.
The protesters intensified the demonstrations led by General Jade after coming to the Parliament complex in Kathmandu, motivating the police to use baton, tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the mob. As the unrest spread, the army was deployed in the capital to maintain the order.
The curfew was implemented not only in Kathmandu but also in Birganj, Bhairahwa, Butwal, Pokhara, Ithariri and Damak. Amid increasing pressure, Home Minister Ramesh writer resigned, taking moral responsibility for the rift.
