Mani Ratnam tells Sai Pallavi at Amaran audio launch: Hope to work with you one day
Director Mani Ratnam was one of the chief guests at the recently held Amaran audio launch. At the event, he expressed interest in working with Sai Pallavi, who plays one of the lead roles in Amaran.
Filmmaker Mani Ratnam expressed his interest in working with Sai Pallavi at the Amaran audio launch in Chennai last week. The actor made his cinema debut with director Alphonse Puthren’s film Premam. There were reports that Mani Ratnam was going to introduce her to Tamil cinema with Kaatru Veliyadai. However, this project did not come to fruition. Kaatru Veliyidai starred Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles.
The audio launch of Amaran took place at Sai Ram Engineering College, Chennai. Mani Ratnam was one of the chief guests at the event.
Speaking about Sai Pallavi he said, “I am a big fan of yours. I hope one day I get a chance to work with you.” The Shyam Singha Roy actor expressed his happiness after hearing the director’s words of appreciation.
Responding to him she said, “Before coming into cinema, I didn’t know many directors by name except Mani Ratnam. In fact, he is one of the reasons why I am selective about scripts and roles. ”
Amaran is a biopic on the life of late Major Mukund Varadarajan. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film stars Sivakarthikeyan in the role of late Major Mukund Varadarajan. Sai Pallavi plays his romantic role. The film is an adaptation of the book ‘India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of the Modern Military’ by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.
Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Sreekumar, Shyam Mohan, Ajay Naga Raman, Mir Salman and Gaurav Venkatesh are part of the supporting roles.
Amaran is set to release on October 31 on the occasion of Diwali.
