Malayalam actor Siddique, who recently resigned from the post of AMMA General Secretary, has now written a detailed statement to the Kerala Police, in which he has claimed that all the allegations of sexual abuse against him are false.

Actor Siddique on Monday wrote a letter to the Kerala Police, denying all sexual harassment allegations levelled against him by a Malayalam actor. In a detailed note addressed to the Kerala state police chief, exclusively obtained by IndiaToday.in, the veteran actor mentioned that the allegations are a vicious attempt to tarnish his image and defame the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). He had earlier resigned from the post of AMMA general secretary following the allegations.

In the long note, Siddique alleged that he had met the woman only once in his life in the presence of her parents in 2016. She told the police that the actor, while speaking to a media channel on August 24, called her an ‘abuser’, ‘criminal’ and accused her of raping him during the preview screening of his film ‘Sukhmayrikkatte’ in 2016.

He said in his letter: “I had seen the actress only on the day of the preview screening of the film ‘Sukhmayrikkatte’. That was in January or February 2016. That day she met me and spoke to me in the presence of her parents. There has been no incident of rape for the first time after more than 8 ½ years, as alleged by her. There has also been no incident of ‘sexual abuse’ or ‘verbal sexual advances’ as alleged by her five years ago.”

“He was expelled from the university for misconduct”

He said the woman has alleged that she had just completed her Plus Two when the incident took place, but he was older than her. The note also referred to her Facebook post of 2021, in which she named 14 people and alleged that they abused her “sexually, mentally, verbally and emotionally”. Siddiqui said one of those 14 people was Abhiladev, co-founder of Kerala Fashion League, who denied the woman’s allegations in his social media post, claiming that she misled him by providing false information about her education.

The note said that after doing his own research, Abhiladev found out that the actress was “expelled from Weifang Medical University in China for her misbehavior, including making a nude video of her roommate.” Siddiqui cited Abhiladev’s post to claim that the actress had previously made similar unwarranted allegations of sexual assault against other men.

The note reads, “Shri Abhiladeva (co-founder of Kerala Fashion League) has stated that one of the 14 people in the list published by the Actress is the manager of the bank from where the Actress had taken a loan which she has not repaid. Shri Abhiladeva has stated that the Actress is an abusive woman who has a criminal mindset. To the best of my knowledge, till date he has not denied the revelations made by Shri Abhiladeva. He has also not taken any action against him for making such allegations against him.”

Citing the Hema Committee report, the veteran actor said the allegations were “a well-planned attempt to tarnish my reputation by taking advantage of the current situation.”

What did the woman say against Siddiqui

Earlier, during her interview, the actress had alleged that she was 21 when Siddiqui called her to Mascot Hotel to discuss a film that was to be screened at Neela theatre. She said, “His approach, like others, was to lovingly call me ‘beti’. At that time, I did not realise that his approach was like that. I did not know that it would happen. I went to that hotel with a very professional approach. I realised later, when I became an adult, that no such film ever existed. He sexually exploited me in that hotel. It was a trap. Whatever he is saying now is a complete lie.”

She said in a statement that the actor had “physically assaulted me, kicked me and tripped me”, adding that she had tried to get justice but no one, not even the system, helped her. These claims are part of the turmoil that began in the Malayalam film industry after the Hema Committee report, which exposed several cases of harassment and exploitation of women, including the casting couch.
