Malayalam actor Neyyattinkara Komalam passes away at the age of 96
Veteran Malayalam actor Neyyattinkara Komalam aka Komala Menon passed away on Thursday, October 17. She was 96 years old.
Neyyattinkara Komalam alias Komala Menon died on Thursday, October 17 at a private hospital in Parasala, Kerala. She was 96 years old. According to reports, she was undergoing treatment at the hospital after being admitted to the hospital on October 15 following heart-related problems and illnesses. His health deteriorated and he died on Thursday due to age-related illness.
according to ManoramaThe funeral of Neyyatinkara Komalam took place at Vazhuthur on 18 October at around 12.30 pm. A few years ago, her husband M. Chandrashekhar Menon died and after his death, she lived with her relatives.
Komalam was born in Kerala to Pankajaksha and Kunjiyamma. He made his acting debut in 1951 with director G Vishwanath’s Vanamala. It was known as the first jungle film in the Malayalam film industry. A year later, he acted in famous actor Prem Nazir’s first film, Marumkal. This was his third film and it cemented his place in Malayalam cinema.
Some of his best films include F Nagaur’s Shabashi and P Ramadoss’s Newspaper Boy.
Komalam retired from work at the age of 21 because he faced criticism from his relatives who opposed his decision to act in cinema. He made a comeback with Aradhana after 22 years of retirement.
Soon after his demise, condolences poured in from his fans and industry colleagues.
