Malavika Mohanan clarifies stunt double row around Prabhas’s The Raja Saab
Malavika Mohanan has opened up about her use of stunt doubles in The Raja Saab after behind-the-scenes pictures sparked online discussion. He shared his perspective and experience with action sequences, providing information about standard safety practices on film sets.

Actress Malavika Mohanan has set the record straight after a social media discussion questioned her participation in action sequences. Raja Saab. The discussion began when behind-the-scenes photos surfaced online, showing a stunt double dressed like his character, leading to speculation whether Mohanan performed his own stunts in the film.
Addressing the discussion directly on X, the actor clarified that the presence of a stunt double does not negate his participation in action sequences. “I’m seeing a lot of tweets and articles about how I claimed to do my own stunts Raja SaabBut a body double did it because a photo of my stunt double is circulating,” he wrote, explaining that the narrative needed context.
Mohanan underlined that stunt doubles are an essential part of filmmaking, especially when safety and technical precision are involved. “There’s always a stunt double on set, even when the actors are doing their own stunts,” he said, adding that professionals often practice shots first or step in when a sequence is deemed too risky.
Sharing his own experience, the actor said that his love for action comes naturally. She said, “I do action because I really enjoy it. I have been sporty since childhood and I love challenging myself physically and learning new things.” However, he stressed that some shots are better left to trained stunt artists who know how to execute them safely.

To put an end to the speculations, Mohanan also shared behind-the-scenes clips of him performing action sequences from the film. He complimented his stunt double with the clip and credited them for guidance and support during the shoot.

Made on a reported budget of around Rs 400 crore, the film grossed around Rs 205 crore worldwide during its theatrical run. It is currently streaming on JioHotstar.
