Actors Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora have been raising their son Arhaan together since their divorce in 2017. Malaika recently revealed that it was “difficult” initially, but she and Arbaaz have now found a balance in raising their son. She said that she has not let whatever happened between her and Arbaaz affect Arhaan.

“Anyway, touch wood, we have found a great balance now. Maybe it was a little difficult in the beginning. And rightly so – because that’s how life is. We both knew that everything else and whatever happens between two adults should never affect the child – and we have found a very compatible way of co-parenting,” Malaika revealed. Malaika shares a friendly bond with Arhaan, as evident from his video podcast on YouTube. The ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ actress said that she always wanted her relationship with Arhaan to remain like this.

“I’ve said it before; I want Arhaan to be my friend – where he feels comfortable talking to me about anything. I would hate it if he felt like he couldn’t come to me or had to think 10 times before saying anything, thinking his mom would go absolutely crazy! I love the fact that he can tell me anything if he wants to – and that goes for my nieces and nephews as well. I love being able to listen to them, give them their perspective and still make them feel like they are making their own decisions without forcing my thoughts or ideas on them,” Malaika said.

Malaika and Arbaaz have raised Arhaan to be a strong individual despite his privileges. Although they have assured him that his parents are with him, Malaika and Arbaaz have allowed him to make his own financial and emotional decisions.

Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan were married for 19 years before getting divorced in 2017. While Arbaaz married makeup artist Shura Khan last year, Malaika recently broke up with her boyfriend, actor Arjun Kapoor.
