Madhuri Dixit breaks silence on whether her marriage with Dr. Shriram Nene was fixed or not

Madhuri Dixit has opened up about her marriage to Dr. Shriram Nene and revealed that contrary to long-held beliefs, their marriage was not arranged. The Bollywood icon said that they dated for six months before deciding that they were “right for each other”, calling her husband the biggest blessing of her life, even bigger than his famous film career.

During a conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Madhuri Dixit talked about her idea of ​​romance during her peak years in films, and clarified that it has nothing to do with her male co-stars. She joked, “I love to be in love. Just thinking about love is romantic to me. Even if you give me a stone, I can still romance it.”

Madhuri met Dr. Nene, a cardiovascular surgeon, who had no idea he was one of India’s biggest stars, and the connection was instant. Within six months, they decided to get married. Describing their bond as a “great combination of art and science”, he said that they share mutual respect, admiration and a strong sense of partnership. “We’ve always encouraged each other,” he said.

When asked directly if their marriage was an arranged marriage, Madhuri clarified, “Not really. We were introduced by my brother, but we dated for six months before we decided we were right for each other.” He also praised Dr. Nene’s dedication to his profession, saying, “He has a great demeanor; he really cares about his patients.”

Speaking about the blessings in his life, the actor said, “I think we are blessings in each other’s lives. And my children are the biggest blessings.” He emphasized that personal happiness is more important than fame or praise. She further added, “The career was there, is there now and will continue to be there. But the biggest blessing is my husband. If you are not happy in your real life, no matter what you achieve, it will not give you happiness, because you have no one to share it with.”

Additionally, the actor reflected on his journey from stardom to partnership. She said that she was never in a hurry to settle down. Before meeting Dr. Nene, her siblings tried to set her up, but she immediately rejected the idea. “Don’t you dare!” She remembered that she had told them that she did not want to risk losing the joy she found in her work.

She said, “Every day in my career was fun. I felt that if I was with someone who was not right for me, that fun would go away.”
