During the inaugural WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) on June 10, Apple unveiled macOS Sequoia, the latest version of its desktop operating system. This new OS promises to bring a number of features that can boost user productivity and provide smarter ways to work. From iPhone mirroring and Safari highlights to advanced gaming capabilities, MacBook users will get a more integrated, efficient, and enjoyable experience with macOS Sequoia. Here are five great features that MacBook users can look forward to.

1. iPhone mirroring made possible

macOS Sequoia will take Continuity to the next level with iPhone mirroring, allowing users to fully access and control their iPhone directly from their Mac. This integration will mirror the iPhone’s custom wallpaper and icons on the Mac. As a result, users will be able to swipe between home screen pages and interact with their favorite apps using the Mac’s keyboard, trackpad, and mouse. In addition, users will be able to drag and drop files between their iPhone and Mac. Another thing worth mentioning is that your iPhone’s notifications will appear on the Mac, allowing you to review and respond without picking up your phone.

2. Safari got an update

Apple’s web browser Safari will also be upgraded with a new Highlights feature. Highlights will make it easier than ever to find information on the web by providing quick links to relevant content like directions, summaries or additional information about people, music, movies and TV shows. The redesigned Reader Mode will provide a distraction-free reading experience with a streamlined view of articles, summaries and the table of contents for longer reading. Additionally, the new Viewer feature will detect videos on a page and put them front and center, while allowing users to access playback controls, including Picture in Picture.

3. Gaming will be encouraged

Gaming on Mac is set to get even more immersive with macOS Sequoia, which will bring much-awaited titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Frostpunk 2. The new Personalized Spatial Audio feature will create a more immersive gaming environment and reduced audio latency with AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) will enhance responsiveness. Improvements to Game Mode promise faster frame rates and better performance. The updated Game Porting Toolkit 2 will allow developers to bring advanced games to Mac more efficiently, promising a richer gaming library for Mac users.

4. Stay organised with better window tiling

macOS Sequoia will introduce improved window tiling to help users stay organized. When dragging a window to the edge of the screen, macOS Sequoia will suggest a tiled position, allowing users to quickly arrange windows next to each other or in corners to maximize screen space. This feature will support new keyboard and menu shortcuts, making it even faster to organize and manage multiple apps and windows on the Mac desktop.

5. Advanced Video Conferencing Tools

Video conferencing will see major improvements in macOS Sequoia with new features such as Presenter Preview, which will let users see what they are about to share before broadcasting on apps like FaceTime and Zoom. Users will also be able to apply custom backgrounds including color gradients, system wallpapers, or personal photos during calls. Apple’s advanced segmentation technology will ensure that users always look their best, no matter what background they choose. These updates will make remote meetings more professional and engaging.
