Apple has recently been busy with a string of exciting product launch. After campaigning around the iPhone 16E, Tim Cook indicated through a post on another release earlier this week via X (East Twitter), which was estimated that M4 would be McBook Air. However, the first announcement brought us the new iPad Air M3 and an entry-level iPad. Just when we thought it is, Apple dropped another surprise: the latest generation MacBook Air powered by M4 chip. This new model introduces several notable upgrades on its predecessor, M3 MacBook Air. There are five most important changes here.

M4 chip with increased RAM options

The biggest upgradation lies in the origin of the new MacBook Air Apple’s M4 chip. Although it is not a Pro or Max variant, the standard M4 chip is still a solid artist. It has a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and a 16–core neural engine that is capable of handling up to 38 trillion operations per second. It marks a large leap from M3, ensuring that M4 is well equipped to support Apple Intelligence features for the coming years.

In addition to the chip upgrade, Apple has doubled the 8GB of the base RAM from the M3 model to 16GB. For people with even more powerful power, M4 MacBook Air also supports configurations up to 32GB from the previous 24GB border. Naturally, with this hardware, the latest model fully supports a series of Apple Intelligence features.

Better battery life

Battery life has always been a strong point for apple’s recent devices, and M4 MacBook Air is no exception. Thanks to the power efficiency of the M4 chip, the new model is expected to provide a long battery life without any major design change. This follows the trend seen in M4 MacBook Pro, which maintained its design but achieved better battery performance.

Better external performance support

One of the boundaries of the recent MacBook Air Model has been his external performance support. While the M3 model allowed users to add two external displays, it came up with a warning: the laptop’s lid was to close, meaning that you could not use the McBook Air screen with the external monitor. Fortunately, M4 MacBook Air addresses this problem, enabled users to run two external displays with LID Open. The facility was introduced with the M4 MacBook Pro last November.

Upgraded 12-megapixel center stage camera

The M4 MacBook Air has a 12-megapixel camera upgraded with center stage support. This feature, which automatically adjusts the camera to keep you in the frame during video calls, has already been introduced in M4 IMAC and Macbook Pro. It is a practical addition to someone that often uses video conferencing or streaming tools. Additionally, there is support for the desk view, which allows you to share your latest project online tuitioning or onscreen to show a top-down view of your workpiece.

A new blue color

A new laptop will not feel complete without at least a fresh color option. Although it is challenging to separate the M4 MacBook Air at a glance from the M3 or even M2 model, a teletell sign is the new Blue Colorway, which replaces the space black shade. As Apple says, a new color is in the air, and we are quite fond of it.
