ESG bond is a debt protection that funds an environmental, social or governance target.
“Larson and Taubro (L&T) have announced an ESG bond issue deal worth Rs. 500 crore, which is the first Indian-Linked Bond framework under ESG and Sustaine-Linked Bond Framework,” the company said in a statement.
HSBC is working as the only lead arrayer in the transaction, he says.
As part of the ESG bond deal, the company said it was committed to environmental targets, including decrease in fresh water withdrawal intensity and emission of greenhouse gases.
The initiative is consistent with the company’s long -term stability goals to achieve water neutrality by 2035 and carbon neutrality by 2040.
This issue is consistent with Sebi’s regulatory structure announced on Thursday, designed to promote transparency, responsibility and configuration with international ESG standards.
This framework outlines the main requirements for issuers, including compulsory external assessments, and post-Issue reporting, such as declaration of durability objectives, other party opinions.
It also mandates clear key performance indicators and goals for measuring ESG results, crucial steps to support the country’s net-zero and climate-stable growth agenda.
