Eric Kripke is as attached to The Boys as we are. Recently, during the highly prestigious San Diego Comic-Con, the show’s creator got emotional while talking about the final and fifth season of the satirical superhero series.
While SDCC brought a lot to the table, Kripke is excited but also sad to think about the end of the series.

The entire cast of The Boys was present at San Diego Comic-Con this year, along with Eric Kripke.
For those who don’t know, the next season of Prime Video’s much-acclaimed action series is going to be the final one. While this makes us sad, the show’s creators also share the same sentiments.
Talking about The Boys, Kripke said that he is grateful to end the show the way he wanted to. Speaking to PEOPLE, the showrunner also said that it is rare to end a show on your own terms and this is the first time he is doing so.
Speaking further to the publication, Eric Kripke said that he was very excited about this creative task; however, it also saddened him.
“I really love this cast. We’re really a family,” Eric Kripke said.
He then went on to add that he’s “successfully holding it back so far, but when we all finally go our separate ways, I’m going to mess things up.”
During the panel, The Boys prequel series Watt Rising was announced, which will focus on Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy and Aya Cash’s Stormfront.
Similarly, a second season of Gen V was also announced, with Chace Crawford’s The Deep also making a cameo for a crossover.
About the final season of The Boys
According to a report by Variety, although the final season does not have a release date, Kripke said it will be filmed between November 2024 and mid-2025.
In addition, the cast from the previous seasons of The Boys may return for the last time. We can expect to see Antony Starr, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid and Jessie T. Usher as well as Karen Fukuhara in season five of The Boys.
Meanwhile, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Crawford are also likely to be present in the final showdown.
Earlier, while speaking to People, Eric Kripke had shared plans to cast former Supernatural cast member Jared Padalecki for the final season, who will likely play a Superman.
