Actress Sobhita Dhulipala will be seen in a new romance drama film titled Love, Sitara. The trailer of the upcoming film was released today, Thursday, September 12. Also starring Rajeev Siddhartha, Sonali Kulkarni and B Jayashree, it will stream on ZEE5 from September 27.

The film delves into the complex world of modern relationships, examining the pressures faced by an aspiring bride Sitara to fulfil the family’s expectations while dealing with her own desires and fears. Sobhita shared the trailer on her Instagram handle and wrote a long note dedicated to it.

Shobhita wrote, “Facing some unique challenges during the COVID lockdown, we have come up with this sweet and humble family-drama shot in Kerala. Sitara, for me, is a heady mix of strong and sensitive. A successful career girl who finds the courage to question and break her own patterns and conditioning. The dignity and spontaneity of the women at the centre of this story is staggering.”

The trailer of Love, Sitara offers a powerful blend of an emotional yet entertaining family saga based on love, acceptance and forgiveness set in the lush landscape of Kerala. The story focuses on Tara (Sobhita Dhulipala), a fiercely independent interior designer, and Arjun (Rajeev Siddhartha), a passionate chef on the verge of international success. However, their seemingly perfect relationship faces a crucial test when a spontaneous marriage proposal comes up under unexpected circumstances.

The preview teases shocking revelations that could threaten not just the couple’s future but also the foundation of the entire family. Love, Sitara explores the complexities of modern relationships, the burden of familial expectations, and the courage needed to face uncomfortable truths.

Talking about her character Sitara, Shobhita, who is all set to marry her fiancé Naga Chaitanya, said, “Playing Sitara has been a very meaningful journey for me, it is a real-life experience of maturity. Sitara is a character with interesting complexities – a successful interior designer who tries to understand the reasons behind her choices, her family dynamics, and the patterns we unconsciously inherit from our families.”

She further added, “What attracted me to this role is that it is the story of a girl who finds the courage to break her conditioning and stay true to herself no matter what.
