Humble potatoes can be used to create an excellent category of behavior – from simple fried snacks at home to excellently designed recipes in top restaurants. Potato lovers are well acquainted with different delicious and stunning forms that can carry this component. But have you ever seen a “series of potatoes” before? Recently, a video that shows a French chef crafting this food miracle with scratches, went viral on Instagram. In the reel, Chef Didier Leroy showed a step-by-step process, by which he treated this incredible potato in his kitchen.

The chef begins by giving instructions to the audience to peel the potatoes until the dark spots on their surface are completely eliminated. Subsequently, they need to cut the edges of potatoes in such a way that they get shapes like rectangular slabs. The chef is seen slipping forward to make them thin – but not so much that they become brittle. He cuts small rectangular shapes inside each slices and then carefully pierce it with a metal dagger through its center. He opens each piece and cuts something else between the previous shapes. Finally, he exposes the sections that joined to reveal the series of potatoes. He counts the link, which adds up to 12. The chef shows that he once made 40 such pieces for his father’s birthday. The clip is deeply fried with potato chains until they bend a crisp golden brown. Watch the full viral video below:
