Lokesh Kanagarj is definitely not a new name for anyone who follows Tamil cinema over the last few years. After giving success with films like Kathy, Master, Vikram, and Leo, it seems that the directors are now ready to make their debut in a leading role.
According to a report by Lats Cinema, Lokesh is ready to act in a film, directed by Arun Matsheshwaran, who was first killed with Dhanush. Arun was initially expected to direct the Ilaiyaraja biopic, but it is estimated that the project is delayed.
Given the situation, it is expected that Arun will take this new film as his next venture, soon with an official announcement. However, so far, these rumors remain and only once Lokesh himself makes an official statement, only can be confirmed.
Talking about Lokesh Kanagaraja, the director has performed some onscreen onscreen in the past. In 2021, he made a cameo appearance with his crew members in the Master of Thalapathy Vijay.
Later, she was also seen in a music video called Inimel, along with Shruti Haasan. The song was written by Kamal Haasan and was produced under his banner, Raj Kamal Films International.
On the professional front, Lokesh’s next direction is the venture Coolie, starring Rajinikanth. The action entertainer has an artist of an artist, including Nagarjuna Akinki, Upendra Rao, Shruti Haasan, Saubin Shahir, Satyaraj and many other lead roles.
The film is slate for release on August 14, 2025, and will confront with Will 2, including Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR. Additionally, it is reported that Aamir Khan will make a cameo appearance in the film.
Meanwhile, director Arun Matsheshwaran was last seen directing captain Miller, with an action period starring Dhanush. The film tells the story of a former British Indian soldier, who should protect his village from imperialists.
