Lokesh Kanagaraj, who was recently seen attending the screening of Kavin-starrer Bloody Beggar, was asked if he would make Leo 2 with Thalapathy Vijay. In a video shared by Thi Cinemas, the director said, “Only Vijay Anna can take this decision. If he agrees, I will definitely make it.”
In the same conversation, the director was asked for his opinion on the recent state conference organized by Thalapathy Vijay for his party TVK. In response to this the director said, “What can I say about this?” Just good wishes to Vijay sir” (translated from Tamil).
For those unaware, Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, ended on a cliffhanger, hinting towards a sequel or continuation of the character’s story in the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe). However, since the actor is reportedly working on his final film, it is unclear whether he will continue playing his character in the cinematic universe.
Furthermore, in the same press conference, the director confirmed that the shooting of Rajinikanth starrer Coolie is going on smoothly, with only two more schedules left before it wraps up. He also clarified that the release date of the film will be announced only after the shooting is completed.
The upcoming film, which stars Rajinikanth in the lead role, was initially announced with a teaser trailer that showed the superstar in a high-octane action avatar. The film is expected to be an action thriller, in which Rajinikanth will play the negative character.
Veteran stars like Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao are also going to be seen in lead roles in the film. Additionally, actors like Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir and Sathyaraj will play lead roles. There is also speculation that Bollywood star Aamir Khan may play a cameo role in the film.
Also, as per the recent buzz, director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Prabhas may collaborate on a film. Although the report is yet to be confirmed, the Rebel star is reportedly likely to join LCU, with an official announcement expected soon.
