A man in Britain is facing a lengthy prison sentence for the rape and murder of a vulnerable woman he attacked on a park bench. Mohammed Eido, 35, was captured on CCTV wandering through Southall Park, west London, looking for a vulnerable target before approaching mother-of-three Natalie Shotter, 37, who was lying on a bench after a night out. But she had become unconscious. Independent Informed.
The horrific attack was captured in harrowing footage, showing Aido manipulating Natalie’s “deeply unconscious” body before repeatedly attacking her for more than 15 minutes.
Natalie’s mother, NHS cardiology practitioner Dr Cass Shotter Weetman, has called for urgent action to address “horrific” violence against women, stressing that many cannot walk freely or go out in public. May not feel safe in places.
He said, “We need to change the way we think about our behaviour. There are people out there who continue to act in very distorted and terrible ways and think they can get away with it.”
In an emotional statement, Dr. Weetman described the horrific pain of watching her daughter being raped, “No mother should have to see this.
“Hearing the medical evidence of how you caused my daughter’s death destroyed my family. I was so angry that my daughter went to the park to have fun at night and was attacked by a predator No woman should be afraid to go to the park and sit on a bench – it’s disgusting.”
Furthermore, he also paid tribute to his daughter, saying that she was a “beautiful soul” and a “kind girl” who helped others. She said her daughter was a “great mother” to her three children, ages 5 to 19. mirror Informed.
On Friday, Judge Richard Marks Casey sentenced Iido to a minimum of 10 years and eight months in prison, media outlets reported.
The judge said taking advantage of Ms Shotter when she was weak and unconscious was “depraved and grossly reckless”.
The judge noted that even though there had never been a previously recorded case of a person dying from a heart attack caused by excessive stimulation of the nerves in the back of the neck, there was a ‘high risk’ that he could suffer serious harm. Was. What did he do to her?
Prosecutor Alison Morgan Casey said during the trial that Ms Shotter had died of a heart attack caused by “repeated” rape by Ido.
CCTV footage showed Ms Shotter sitting on a bench with a different man when Aido walked past and looked at them.
“What was the defendant doing there, what was he trying to do, wandering the streets in the middle of the night and wondering what his objective might have been – to seek out a vulnerable woman to rape,” Ms Morgan said.
The convict then walked out of the park and drove away in his car before returning.
The victim was lying down and showing no apparent movement for about half an hour, Ms Morgan said, after which he casually approached her.
Ms Shotter was “deeply unconscious” during the attack, the prosecutor said.
CCTV showed the convict moving Ms Shotter’s body around in various positions as he raped her.
Ms Shotter was found dead in the park by a passerby on the morning of July 17, 2021.
DNA swabs taken from his mouth matched samples collected from Mohammed Iido.
Iido was arrested at his home on August 4, 2021 and during his police interview, he claimed that the sexual activity was consensual.
Ms Morgan told jurors: “The prosecution’s case is that Natalie died as a result of what this defendant did to her.
“She was not dead at the time the defendant was orally raping her, that would be a matter for you to consider – that this defendant went to the park for some reason.
“He would not have tried to have sex with a dead body for more than 15 minutes, he would have been having sex with someone he knew was alive but deeply unconscious and so he Was raping her.”
