Former One Direction singer Liam Payne was reportedly active on Snapchat just before his tragic death in Buenos Aires. Payne was reportedly found dead after falling from the third floor of his hotel. However, fans became confused because his Snapchat account posted an update shortly before news of his death broke.
According to media reports, Payne’s Snapchat page was sharing a series of posts, with the last update appearing at around 5:50 pm Argentine time. The post included photos and videos of him staying in a house with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy.
In one post, Payne mentioned that they were “waking up at 1am every day”, although it is unclear when the material was actually filmed. These social media updates raised questions among fans, leading some to initially believe that the news of his death was a rumor.
However, local Argentinian outlets, including La Nación and Clarin, reported that Pené died around 5:00 p.m., an hour before the Snapchat post was uploaded. Payne was in Buenos Aires following his appearance at a Niall Horan concert at the beginning of the month. Witnesses at the hotel reported that he displayed erratic behavior before the collapse, including breaking his laptop in the lobby.
The circumstances surrounding Payne’s death, including his social media activity, remain under investigation as authorities investigate what led to the tragic incident.
