Leonardo DiCaprio may not have taken home a trophy at the 2026 Golden Globes, but he still sparked one of the most talked-about conversations of the night — all thanks to a candid commercial break moment involving K-pop.

A clip shared by New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan quickly gained attention online. In it, DiCaprio is seen making a K-pop reference during a casual conversation in the audience. Social media lip-readers immediately got to work: “I saw you with the K-pop thing,” he appeared to say, using animated hand gestures before saying, “You were like, ‘Is that? K-pop?'” DiCaprio then looked around and clapped, pleased with what was revealed off-camera.

She later apologized profusely, saying, “Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s gross. I tried not to, but we don’t know anything else about you. There’s nothing else – like, open up.”

Glaser also referenced a teen magazine profile from decades ago, saying, “The most in-depth interview you ever gave was in Teen Beat in 1991. Is your favorite food still ‘pasta and more pasta’? Check it out – it’s real.”
