Tablets were once considered too underpowered for serious gaming, but Lenovo has changed that with the launch of its first gaming tablet, the Lenovo Legion Tab. It is also the first gaming tablet introduced by any company in India. Designed to deliver a seamless gaming experience, the Legion Tab bridges the gap between PC and mobile gaming, offering powerful performance in a portable form.

Ashish Sikka, Director and Category Head, Lenovo India, spoke about the significance of this launch for Lenovo’s gaming lineup. He said that the Legion Tab adds a new dimension to their range of gaming devices, which already includes desktops, laptops, and handhelds. Sikka highlighted that the Legion Tab is designed to offer a high-performance gaming experience that is both accessible and convenient for gamers in India.

Lenovo Legion Tab: Specifications and Features

The Lenovo Legion Tab features an 8.8-inch QHD+ display, making it a portable and powerful option for gaming on the go. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X memory. The tablet weighs just 350 grams and is 7.6mm thick, making it lightweight and easy to carry, yet packed with performance.

The tablet will go on sale on Lenovo’s official website and Flipkart starting August 15. Jagjeet Harode, Vice President, Electronics, Flipkart, shared his excitement about the launch, saying that India’s gaming industry is growing rapidly, with the demand for high-performance portable devices increasing. Harode said that the Lenovo Legion Tab fits perfectly with Flipkart’s mission to offer cutting-edge products that meet the diverse needs of tech enthusiasts and gamers.

In terms of performance, the Lenovo Legion Tab is powered by a 6550mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. It also features Lenovo’s Legion Coldfront vapor thermal solution, which helps keep the tablet cool during intense gaming sessions. The device offers three performance modes – Beast mode for maximum frame rates, Balanced mode for a blend of performance and battery life, and Energy Saving mode to extend battery life during long gaming sessions.

The tablet’s 8.8-inch QHD+ Lenovo PureSight display has a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth and vivid visuals. With a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and 98% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, the display delivers sharp and vibrant images. The tablet also features an integrated haptic system that provides tactile feedback for an immersive gaming experience.

Lenovo Legion Tab: Price and availability

Lenovo has priced the Legion Tab at Rs 39,999 and it will be available on Lenovo.com and Flipkart starting August 15, 2024. The tablet is expected to appeal to gamers who are looking for a high-performance, portable device that can meet their gaming needs both at home and on the go.
