This year has been very good for filmmaker Kiran Rao and his directorial venture Missing Ladies is getting a lot of love. Today, November 7, 2024, is his 51st birthday. On this special occasion, let us remember the moment when he revealed that his favorite Khan in Bollywood is not Aamir Khan but Salman Khan.
In an old interview with India TV, Kiran Rao had said that Shahrukh Khan has often said that his wife Gauri Khan’s favorite Khan in the industry is Aamir Khan. When Kiran was asked who was her favourite, she took the name of Salman Khan. During the interview, Aamir present there asked him the reason for this.
“I just enjoy watching him,” Kiran said. I have not seen all his films, but woh jab aate hain main dekhna chahti hoon unko (When he comes, I want to see him). He has charisma.” He said that he found Salman Khan entertaining.
Kiran told that she has also seen his films Dabangg and No Entry, in which she liked his work very much. He further added, “Talk about Maine Pyaar Kiya, his first film.”
Talking about Missing Ladies, the film is a comedy drama directed by Kiran Rao and backed by Aamir Khan. The cast includes Nitanshi Goyal, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan. The film was released in theaters on 1 March 2024.
Salman Khan had praised Kiran and her film a lot on X (earlier Twitter). His tweet read, “Just watched Kiran Rao’s Missing Ladies. Wah Wah (Wah, Wah) Kiran. I really enjoyed it and so did my father. Great work. When will you work with me? (When will you work with me?)
Lapata Ladies has been selected as India’s official entry at the 97th Academy Awards. Earlier in September, Kiran had expressed her happiness about this honour. In a statement, she said, “I am extremely honored and delighted that our film Missing Ladies has been selected as India’s official entry for the Academy Awards. This honor is a testament to the tireless work of my entire team, whose dedication and passion brought this story to life.”
