Now, he is quietly preparing that many people in the Telugu film industry have been saying the most important film in their career since ‘Arjun Reddy’.
‘Kingdom’, directed by Gwatum Tinnuri, is not just another release on the calendar. It is a careful script, greenlight after months after months. Unlike some of his recent films, which overshadow the scale and star power, the ‘Kingdom’ seems to be a marked departure. More than the failure of the film, it was promotion and material that hit a nerve. By adding it to it, aggressive marketing and promotion only increase the disappointment of the audience. It was a wake-up call, one seems to have inspired the actor to take one step back and assured the stories that he wanted to be part.
However, after ‘Ligar’, his films, this ‘Kushi’ or ‘The Family Star’ failed to impress fans with number or their content. With persistent failures, they have taken time to recur – and internal sources say that reconstruction is already visible in the manner of ‘Kingdom’.
The inner source of a senior industry says, “Whatever he chooses, he has become more careful with him. The energy around him is quiet, more focused. He is no longer chasing stardom. He is rebuilding it.”
What is ‘Kingdom’?
Set against the background of rural political unrest, ‘Kingdom’ is a detective action thriller. Interestingly, the film will take Vijay Devarakonda to a character with many colors. The actor is designed to sports three different looks in the film, which reflects different stages of his journey. He plays the role of a police constable, who finds himself in Sri Lanka on a secret mission, not only under the leadership of anyone other than his estrated brother, played by the truth, to find out that the crime sent to infiltrate.
With such a layered story and emotional stakes in the game, everyone’s eyes are now on director Gautam Tinnuri, to see how he weaves this complex story together. A member of the creative team says, “He (Vijay) was looking for a role that was not designed around his stardom, but one who would challenge him as an actor. ‘Kingdom’ gave him.”
The film also features Satyadev and Bhagyashree Bores, with a strong environmental artist and a story that is more towards drama than the spectacle. “This is a film where the writing pursues the star, not in another way,” the source is called.
‘Kingdom’ – A Do or Die Film
The pressure on the ‘Kingdom’ is not just artistic – it is also commercial. After the actor’s box office performance-‘Gata Govindam’ has been inconsistent. Even his previous two films – ‘Kushi’ and ‘The Family Star’ – were box -office duds. A hit here will not only redeem its brand, but will also repeat it as a bankable name in the Telugu belt – and perhaps again at the national level.
Business analyst Ramesh Bala says, “Vijay is still a star with a high recall value. He has a loyal fan base and a strong connect with the youth.”
Another task in making?
Something should be said about the actors who wake up after falling. This often makes a more compelling story than the first success. And Deorasonda, whose career has always shut down the traditional path, seems to be the best.
He is not trying to return as the same star who gave ‘Arjun Reddy’ or ‘Dear Comrade’. The ‘Kingdom’ is a sign of the development – not only as an artist, but can be taken seriously as someone who can anchor meaningful, story -powered cinema.
