In a shocking turn of events, the producers of the popular reality show Bigg Boss Kannada Season 11 have landed in legal trouble. According to a report in India Today, the makers of the show received a police notice on October 14, 2024, regarding the violation of privacy of the female contestants. The Kumbalagodu police issued the notice following a complaint by the Karnataka State Commission for Women raising concerns over a controversial act in the show.
As part of a task called Heaven and Hell on the show, the contestants were divided into different sections, some of which were placed in a prison-like setting. The Women’s Commission filed a complaint specifically addressing the potential violation of female contestants’ privacy in a multi-camera environment. Additionally, India Today reports that the work highlighted concerns about improper facilities, including lack of sanitation and food.
After the complaint was filed, Kumbalagodu police urged the producers of Bigg Boss Kannada to appear for the investigation. Additionally, the police have asked them to share unedited raw footage and audio from the episode containing the controversial act. Furthermore, the producers of the Kiccha Sudeep-led show were warned that if they failed to comply with the investigation, they could face serious legal consequences.
According to reports, the police have recorded the statements of five female contestants, who were kept in a jail-like setting. However, India Today claims that their sources confirmed that the female contestants rejected any human rights violations, saying that everything was conducted with their consent.
The makers of Bigg Boss Kannada have not yet released any official statement on this issue. Meanwhile, he has removed the “Heaven and Hell” element from the task and has instructed the contestants to resume their normal way of living inside the Bigg Boss house.
