Kiara Advani is preparing for her role as an acrobat in Geetu Mohandas’s Toxic, working with international actors to deliver scenes said to be unprecedented in Indian cinema. The film, which also stars Yash, is set for release in March 2026.

Kiara Advani is all set to make a comeback to cinema this year with her role in Geetu Mohandas’ upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown UpsIn which Yash is in the lead role. The teaser of the film was launched on Thursday on the occasion of Yash’s birthday, and introduced the first glimpse of his character as well as the five lead actresses, including Advani. Notably, Kiara’s character has been introduced in a circus-themed environment, a choice that has attracted the attention and curiosity of audiences and industry insiders alike.

The context of this specific introduction has now been clarified by sources close to the production. Kiara plays the role of an acrobat in the film and her scenes are set in a circus-like setting. According to a production source, the intention was to present a scene not seen before in Indian cinema. In preparation, Kiara worked closely with international artists, ensuring authenticity and innovation in her portrayal.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups It includes actors like Yash, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Kiara Advani. The film is bilingual, with simultaneous shooting in Kannada and English. Kiara’s character, Nadia, underwent significant preparation, as the team explained: “Sources tell us the actor underwent extensive training with an international team for the role.”

For her performance, Kiara trained for Cirque du Soleil-inspired acting, a first for mainstream Indian cinema. International artistes collaborated not only to train Advani but also to design and practice acting. The aim was to “achieve a vision that has not been seen before in Indian cinema, bring it at par with the global standard and deliver a cinematic experience”.

The physical demands of the role were immense and Kiara has publicly described it as her most challenging part to date. “Kiara has previously described her role in Toxic as her ‘toughest role yet’.”

Further details about the character reveal an emphasis on strength and presence. According to sources, “Kiara’s character is said to be fearless, raw and intoxicating, a blend of grace, power and intensity, which makes her screen presence in the film powerful,” highlighting the expectations surrounding her performance.

Director Geetu Mohandas has praised Kiara’s commitment and performance. In a recent public note, Mohandas said, “What Kiara created on screen in this film is nothing short of transformative. As a director, I am extremely proud of her and the performance she delivered and the confidence and heart she brought to our shared journey.”

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups Scheduled for theatrical release on March 19, 2026. The film will be released with much awaited Dhurandhar 2Directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, it is setting up a notable clash at the box office.
