Khel Khel Mein: UAE cuts important scenes of Fardeen Khan, director reacts
Director Mudassar Aziz recently spoke about UAE’s decision to edit out a crucial aspect of actor Fardeen Khan’s character’s sexuality in ‘Khel Khel Mein’.

Khel Khel Mein director Mudassar Aziz is not very happy with the UAE release of his film, as he recently found out that key scenes from the film have been cut due to local restrictions. One such scene involved actor Fardeen Khan, where his character’s sexuality was addressed.
Speaking to Mid-Day about the same, Aziz said, “I am a filmmaker. It is my professional and moral duty to write all kinds of characters and raise topics of conversation. That is what Khel Khel Mein is all about. Though it is sad to see that something so relevant and done with so much dignity missed out on a UAE release, I am thrilled with the appreciation I am receiving from across the world for those scenes.”
He said, “Through this role (of Fardeen), I wanted to contribute to a conversation that is important and relevant. While edits may have been made, the intent behind the role – acceptance – remains unchanged, and I stand by the importance of the message.”
Fardeen Khan has made a comeback in films after a long gap of 14 years through Khel Khel. Apart from Fardeen, the film also stars Akshay Kumar, Amy Virk, Taapsee Pannu and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles.
The film was released in theatres on 15 August.
