After a string of successful releases during the Independence Day weekend, Akshay Kumar is back with Mudassar Aziz-directed Khel Khel Mein on August 15. The film is a comedy film starring Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Amy Virk, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal. Khel Khel Mein has been given a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification, with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 14 minutes (134 minutes).
The film is being released nationwide by Panorama Studios and the number of screens in India is estimated to be between 1500 and 2000, with most of the screens being targeted at multiplexes. The film is appealing to the urban audience and is facing competition from Stree 2 and Veda, which have skewed the release scenario, and there is a trade battle for more shows, which makes the number of screens dynamic at the moment.
advance booking for in game play It started with limited shows on Sunday morning, and more shows will begin by Monday. The film has sold nearly 8000 tickets across the top 3 national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis – for the opening day alone till 5 pm on Tuesday. With a day and a half left, akshay kumar The film might sell around 25,000 to 30,000 tickets nationally, owing to its release on Independence Day.
Due to the release day being a holiday, it may do better than usual, however, it is also a fragmented release due to the massive success of Stree 2. Taking all factors into consideration, Khel Khel Mein should ideally open in the range of Rs 6.00 to 7.00 crores on Thursday, and then expect to remain steady at the same numbers over the 5-day extended weekend period. The opening will be low, and this makes it very important for the film to do well on the content front to get any kind of theatrical run.
The advance is low, but definitely better than industry expectations, and it is gaining momentum to reach the 25,000 to 30,000 pre-sales mark by 11.59 pm on Wednesday. Independence Day is one of the biggest national holidays of the year, and cinema halls will see a huge number of footfalls. With Stree 2 registering housefull boards at most properties, counter-showcasing will play a big role in deciding the second-best film of the day, as the film with better count-showcasing will get more footfalls than Stree 2.
Khel Khel Mein is not getting much of a single screen release due to which it is heavily dependent on national and non-national multiplex chains. Now with a day and a half left for the release, things are getting even more heated. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
