Khel Khel Mein and Veda Day 3 Box Office Collection: Akshay Kumar and John Abraham films fail to counter the storm of Stree 2

The films ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and ‘Veda’ released on Independence Day turned out to be huge disappointments at the box office. The Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer couldn’t stand up to Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Stree 2’. Although ‘Khel Khel Mein’ performed better than ‘Veda’, its box office collection was nothing short of a nightmare.

Khel Khel Mein earned Rs 2.55 crore on its third day at the Indian box office

Starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Ammi Virk, Vaani Kapoor, Pragya Jaiswal and Aditya Seal, the film ‘Khel Khel Mein’ did not perform well at the box office. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film earned only Rs 2.55 crore on the third day, Saturday. Thus, its total earnings in India in three days became around Rs 9.40 crore.

Khel Khel Mein had the lowest opening among the three Hindi films released on Independence Day, but it is now ahead of Ved at the box office.

Here is the daily net box office collection of Khel Khel Mein:

Day Bharat Net Collection
1 Rs 5.15 crore
2 Rs 1.70 crore
3 Rs 2.55 crore
Total ₹ 9.40 crore in 3 days in India

Despite ‘buy one get one’ offer, ‘Veda’ earns Rs 1.80 crore on third day

Veda, starring John Abraham, Sharvari and Abhishek Banerjee, is also heading downward at the box office. The action-drama, which opened with Rs 6.25 crore on the national holiday, is now unable to make even half of its first day collections. According to estimates, the Nikkhil Advani film managed to earn only Rs 1.80 crore on its third day, despite receiving a ‘buy-one-get-one’ offer. Veda’s three-day collection stands at around Rs 9.55 crore.

Here is the daily nett box office collection of Veda:

Day Bharat Net Collection
1 Rs 6.25 crore
2 Rs 1.50 crore
3 Rs 1.80 crore
Total ₹ 9.55 crore in 3 days in India

Game Khel Mein and Veda are heading towards a disastrous end

The release of Stree 2 has certainly affected the box office performance of Khel Khel Mein and Veda, but the clash is not the only reason for their disappointing performance. Both films struggled to attract audiences due to ineffective promotional properties and marketing campaigns. Additionally, mixed word of mouth has contributed to the lack of audience interest.

Nevertheless, there is still time for the Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer to pick up pace and post respectable numbers as there are no major Hindi cinema releases in the next 6 weeks.

It will be interesting to see whether these films are able to benefit from the partial holiday of Raksha Bandhan on Sunday and the day after.
