Nearly a week after the verdict in the Kerala actor attack case, the victim has for the first time posted a statement, sharply criticizing the conduct of the trial court. In a post shared on social media, the victim wrote: “Every citizen in this country is not treated equally before the law.”

The actor’s Instagram post reads, “December 12, 2025…After 8 years, 9 months and 23 days, I finally saw a small ray of light at the end of a very long and painful journey. Six accused have been convicted and for that I am grateful!! This moment is dedicated to those who called my pain a lie and this matter a fabrication. I hope you are at peace today!! (sic)”

“And those who still keep saying that accused no. 1 was my personal driver, this is a complete lie!! He was not my driver, not my employee, and not someone I knew. He was a random person who was hired as a driver for a film I worked on in 2016!! The irony is that I had met him only once or twice during that time, and never again, until this crime happened!! Please stop spreading false stories. Shut down!! This decision may not surprise me. As early as 2020, I noticed a change in the way the prosecution handled the case,” the survivor added in the post.

“Over the years, I have approached the High Court and the Supreme Court several times, clearly stating that I do not trust this court. Every request to take the case away from the same judge was rejected. I will share those details in the next slide. After years of pain, tears and emotional struggle, I have come to a painful realization: ‘Every citizen in this country is not treated equally before the law’…(sic),” the post further said.

The actor also wrote, “At the end of the day, this judgment made me realize how strongly human judgments can shape decisions. I also know that not every court works the same way! My heartfelt thanks to everyone who has stood by me during this long journey!! And to those who continue to attack me with derogatory comments and paid narratives, you are free to do what you are paid to do!!”

“These are the reasons why I lost confidence in this trial court: My fundamental rights were not protected. The most important evidence in this case – the memory card – was found to have been accessed illegally three times while in the court’s custody. Two government prosecutors resigned from the case, clearly stating that the atmosphere of the court had become hostile towards the prosecution. Both of them told me personally not to expect justice from this court, as they felt it was biased, “The survivor continued.

The actor further added, “I repeatedly requested for a proper investigation into the tampering of the memory card. However, the investigation report was not given to me until I asked repeatedly. While I was fighting for a fair trial, the accused filed a petition requesting that the same judge continue to hear the case. This created even more serious doubts in my mind.”

“I also wrote to the Honorable President of India and the Honorable Prime Minister of India expressing my concern and seeking their intervention! I requested the court to hold the proceedings in open court, so that the public and media can be present and see for themselves what is happening. This request was rejected,” the post concluded.

The survivor did not mention any names in the post and thanked all the people who “inspired me to be nothing like them”.
