In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, rollover contestant Akash Kumar Sharma took the hot seat opposite host Amitabh Bachchan. Sharma is a head constable in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. He told the veteran actor how he had to take up a job at a young age due to his family’s financial struggles.
Sharma started the game with a question of Rs 20,000. She faced the question for Rs 3,20,000 which was: In India, which of the following posts was first held by a woman? He chose the right option, which was Chief Minister. After this, Big B asked the contestant how he was able to get leave from his job to participate in the popular game show.

Akash told that his posting is in hilly areas, where there is no network. However, this year he had specifically taken permission from the CO to participate in the show.
Akash was successful in answering six questions correctly and won Rs 60,000. With this, he revived his ‘Ask the Audience’ lifeline. He then played the question for Rs 6,40,000 which was: On the five dollar bank note issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, with which mountain is Sir Edmund Hillary shown? He chose option A, Mount Everest.
However, this was the wrong answer. The correct answer was Mount Cook. Akash Sharma took home Rs 3,20,000.
