Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales who has been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed cancer, shared a happy update about her health. She announced the completion of her chemotherapy on social media and also penned a heartfelt note expressing relief and reflection on her treatment journey. The post was accompanied by a video compilation of her, Prince William and their children Prince George, 11, Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, spending quality time together.
“Summer is coming to an end, I can’t tell you how relieved I am to finally be done with my chemotherapy treatments,” she wrote in the caption. Middleton emotionally reflected on the past nine months, when her family went through an emotionally challenging time.
Acknowledging that life can “change in an instant” he explained how the family had to find a way to “navigate the stormy waters and the unknown road ahead”. Cancer treatment is a scary journey, especially for those closest to the person. “While humbling, it also makes you face your own vulnerabilities in a way you never thought about before,” he said. “And with that, comes a new perspective on everything.”
She also explained how her diagnosis was a reminder for her and William to value the simple but important things in life that are often overlooked. At the moment, she is “doing everything she can to stay cancer-free.” Despite having completed chemotherapy, her road to recovery and treatment is long and one she will have to tackle patiently.
“However, I look forward to getting back to work and making some more public appearances in the coming months when possible,” he added. He concluded on a humble note, thanking his supporters for their warm wishes and expressing gratitude for the period he has entered with “a new hope and appreciation for life.”
Finally, she shared some words of wisdom and encouragement to fellow cancer fighters and survivors. In January, Middleton underwent a planned “stomach surgery,” but no further details about it were revealed.
However, in March, the Princess shocked the world by sharing a post announcing her cancer diagnosis. Her absence from public duty comes at a challenging time when two major British royals – the Princess of Wales and King Charles III – are battling terminal illness at the same time.
The King has resumed his official duties and is due to embark on a Commonwealth tour in Kenya with his wife Queen Camilla. As for the Princess, reports suggest she may attend the annual war commemoration in November if her health remains good.
