Kartik Aaryan expressed his happiness over India’s victory in the T20 World Cup final in an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in. He also gave his reaction on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s decision to retire from T20 Internationals.

‘Chandu Champion’ star Kartik Aaryan is ‘really happy’ after India’s win against South Africa on June 29. Talking about Team India’s win and observing the match last night, the actor told us, “I am really happy and excited that India won the World Cup yesterday. It was like a dream for all of us to see it. The way Virat (Kohli) played in the final and Rohit (Sharma) said he was saving it for the final (referring to his previous interview); even Suryakumar (Yadav)’s catch was unbelievable. It was a thrilling match and something that a lot of us will never forget. In the end, (Jasprit) Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, everyone – it was a team effort last night.”

He also talked about Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retiring from T20 Internationals. He said, “We won the World Cup, but sadly we are losing two diamonds. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are retiring. It is definitely breaking my heart and the fans’ heart.”

Karthik took to social media last night to congratulate Team India, calling it a ‘historic win’. A part of his post read, “Team India, who refused to surrender.”

On Saturday, June 29, India pulled off a memorable 7-run win against South Africa at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, lifting the trophy for the second time. Their last such win came in 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. The win also ended India’s 11-year drought of ICC titles, their biggest triumph before this being the Champions Trophy in 2013.
