Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan recently shared a post of Shabana Azmi in which he congratulated her for her brilliant performance in Chandu Champion. Kartik wrote, “I got my Eidi (I have got my Eidi). Every word you said feels like a medal to me.

Earlier, Shabana Azmi had posted a long note for Aaryan on her Instagram handle. She wrote, “I was so moved by Kabir Khan’s film Chandu Champion and I loved Kartik Aaryan’s character. He played it with an almost child-like tenacity, with a very charming smile that prevented him from presenting it as arrogance. Vijay Raaz is very effective as the coach. It’s a real-life story and I salute Kabir for making it happen in his lifetime, so he got a chance to watch it with his family. I am with Kartik at a special screening organised by Excel Entertainment.”

Talking to the paparazzi about the film, Shabana said, “It was great. I couldn’t stop crying while watching the film. Kartik did a great job and Kabir Khan did an amazing job too. It’s been a while since I watched one of his films. He kept the story interesting, even in the second half.”

Chandu Champion is based on the life of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar. Apart from Aryan, the film also stars Vijay Raj and Bhuvan Arora in lead roles.
