Karthik Subbaraj reveals that he introduced the great, Jigarthanda DoubleX to Rajinikanth
In a candid interview, filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj revealed that he gave the initial ideas of Mahaan and Jigarthanda DoubleX to superstar Rajinikanth before casting Chiyaan Vikram for Mahaan and Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah for Jigarthanda DoubleX.
Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj recently shared a fascinating behind-the-scenes revelation about his popular films, Mahaan and Jigarthanda DoubleX. In a candid interview, Subbaraj revealed that the stories of both the films were initially based on superstar Rajinikanth.
Karthik Subbaraj, who has completed shooting for his next directorial venture with actor Suriya, tentatively titled Suriya 44, was asked in an interview if he had imagined Rajinikanth in the role played by Raghava Lawrence in Jigarthada DoubleX .
In response, he said, “I write all my stories keeping Thalaivar (Rajinikanth) in mind,” and revealed that he had pitched the idea of Jigarthanda DoubleX to the superstar after Petta. He further revealed that he eventually cast Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah. After watching the film, Rajinikanth asked him why he did not offer him the story. To this the director said, “I told him that I had already narrated it to him, but till then it had not developed to that level.”
Kartik further revealed that after the release of Mahaan, which starred Chiyaan Vikram, Rajinikanth called him to ask why the story was not narrated to him. Kartik clarified that he had shared a rough idea earlier. With a laugh, he ended the topic by saying, “Whenever I get a basic idea, I tell him (Rajinikanth), but I feel that next time I have to be completely prepared before pitching it to him.” Should stay.”
