Kareena Kapoor and I are very close to working together: Director Mudassar Aziz
Mudassar Aziz discussed his upcoming projects during an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, including the sequel to Pati, Patni Aur Woh and his aspiration to work with Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Writer, director and producer Mudassar Aziz, known for directing films like Happy Bhag Jayegi and Khel Khel Main, talks exclusively to India Today Digital about his upcoming projects. He shared an update about the Pati, Patni Aur Woh sequel and expressed his desire to collaborate with Kareena Kapoor, whom he admires for her art.
“I am currently working on the sequel of Pati, Patni Aur Woh. I’m really looking forward to the second part of this film,” he told us during the interview. He further added, “It is too early to say what the story of the film is, but I can definitely say that audiences who enjoy commercial cinema will really enjoy this one. The star cast of the film is yet to be announced, but it will be something that we are excited to present to all of you.
Aziz also expressed his keen interest in working with Kareena Kapoor Khan in the near future. “Bebo and I go a lot further. He has a very special relationship with me. Actually, Kareena herself knows how much I admire her art and her personality. I have wanted to work with him for a long time and he is aware of this. We have come very close to working together many times and this time, I hope we can do it. He is a superstar who is definitely on my wish-list of actors I want to direct,” said the director.
Talking about his ongoing projects, Aziz shared, “I am also working on a script which will bring together the biggest group of stars and superstars. After Khel Khel Mein, I told myself that now I will write a script which will have maximum two lead actors. But then, ultimately, knowing myself, once I sit down to write, it turns into a film that will have a massive cast. I also want to work with many people – these include Salman Khan, the great Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and others. I think I want to keep working on stories so that someday we can collaborate and bring something extremely entertaining to our audiences.”
Mudassar Aziz’s last directorial venture ‘Khel Khel Mein’ was released in theaters on August 15 and it clashed with Veda and Stree 2 at the box office. The film became a success when it was released on Netflix.
