Karanvir Mehra and Padmini Kolhapure also approached for Bigg Boss 18
The much-awaited Bigg Boss 18 is set to premiere in October. In anticipation of its launch, India Today Digital has exclusively learned that TV actor Karanvir Mehra is set to participate in the reality TV show hosted by Salman Khan.
The excitement for Bigg Boss 18 is growing with each passing day. The reality show hosted by Salman Khan is reportedly launching on October 5. India Today Digital had earlier confirmed Nia Sharma as a contestant, and now sources have revealed that Karanvir Mehra has also signed on.
A source shared, “The actor has been approached for Bigg Boss for the past few years. Last season, he was almost confirmed but scheduling conflicts prevented him from participating. After his successful stint in KKK, Karanvir is keen to explore more non-fiction projects. The producers are also keen to capitalise on his growing popularity after Rohit Shetty’s show.” Interestingly, Karanvir is being touted as the winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14.
Further, the source revealed that veteran Bollywood actress Padmini Kolhapure has been approached, though her participation is not confirmed. This season, the creatives aim to challenge the notion that Bigg Boss only features viral celebrities by bringing more seriousness to the format.
Reports also suggest that TV actors Zaan Khan, Shehzada Dhami, Anjali Anand, Chahat Pandey, Avinash Mishra, Nyra Banerjee, Splitsvilla fame Kashish Kapoor, Digvijay Rathi and Stree 2 star Sunil Kumar will be joining Bigg Boss 18.
The theme of this season will revolve around the cycle of time. While past contestants like Munawar Faruqui, Elvish Yadav and Manisha Rani will return as mentors, AI-based elements are rumoured to add future twists to the show.
