Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has called off pre-release screenings. here’s why
Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions has decided to stop pre-release screenings of its films, citing the need to optimize and maintain the excitement of the cinematic experience. However, they will still host press screenings on the day of release to ensure timely reviews.

Filmmaker-producer Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions will not host pre-release screenings for its upcoming films. Addressing the media, the production house, under the signature of Dharma co-founders KJO and Apoorva Mehta, released a statement explaining the reason behind its decision.
The letter is addressed to “Dear members of the media”, and says, “For years, nay decades, you have stood strongly with us at Dharma Productions, supporting our films, supporting our dreams. You have been sharing and celebrating our victories. A driving force throughout our journey, and we would like to take this moment to express our deep and heartfelt gratitude to all of you, each coverage, review and feedback has been invaluable to us, and they undoubtedly helped us reach our films Is. “Viewers far and wide (sic).”
The note further reads, “As we evolve, we find ourselves at a juncture where we have to adapt and innovate our approach. After much deliberation, we have unanimously decided to Although this decision has been difficult to make, we believe it is a necessary step to ensure that every audience, including our friends in the media, can listen to our stories. “As they should be experienced. We believe this will help maintain the excitement of the cinematic experience for all (sic).”
The production house clarified that although there will not be a pre-release screening, they will host a screening for the press in the earlier part of the film’s release day for timely reviews. “Having said that, we understand the importance of timely reviews and the role they play in the success of our films. Therefore, we are happy to announce that we will be holding press screenings in the first half of the release day for each of our films. We warmly welcome all media personnel to join us for these screenings, where you will be the first to see our latest offerings.”
