“At that time, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor had just a hit, ‘Aashiqui 2’. They had already agreed to do the film, and the film came to me as a project. Ready. With a great remake. With a great remake. A great director. A great director. Actor. Actor. And yet, in my heart, I should really feel, I should feel really, this film is really in the film, this film is a very few in the moment!

Johar said that the weak reception of the film can be attributed to their decision not to trust their instinct. He commented, “It was not anyone’s fault. Everyone did their work well. But deeply, I knew it was not the right step – and I didn’t take action on it. Even today, I never listen to my tendency. And when I don’t, I go wrong. It’s a mistake that I am making.”
