Karan Johar reacts to the ‘Career Divisive’ tag, ‘I only do my work’
Filmmaker Karan Johar replied to criticism that he has negatively impressed the career in Bollywood, stating that his support for outsiders is often ignored, while meditation remains only on the star children he has launched.

Director-producer Karan Johar has finally addressed allegations of career alleged sabotage in the film industry. In the recent podcast with Raj Shamani, he replied to the allegations, “carrier destroyer” labeled.
Expressing his disappointment, Karan said, “People say Its Career was destroyed. Main was someone’s crush. Main bass is your job (People say that I have destroyed the career of many people. I have not done anything like this. I have just done my work). ,
Addtically, Johar addressed criticism to support the so -called “NEPO Kids”, pointing out that people often ignore outsiders who have made the champion. He cited the example of actor Adarsh Gaurav, who has now been widely praised, but whose first film, ‘My Name is Khan’, was produced by Dharma Productions.
Karan explained, “I have worked with all kinds of actors. I can list many actors and other talents who did their first films with us – many of which were full outdoor.” The filmmaker said, “I have launched around 50 actors and 25 directors, many of which come from non-film backgrounds. Nevertheless, no one ever talks about it.”
He questioned why there is very little recognition for actors like Laxman Lalwani and Raghav Juyal, who succeeded after acting in religion’s film ‘Kill’. “If I launch an outsider, it does not pay attention to anyone. But if it is a star child, it becomes a title,” Karan said.
On the film production front, Karan’s upcoming project ‘Homebound’ – Ison Khatar, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa starring – is set for the United Nations for a premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and co-written by Ghaywan and Sumit Roy, it also offers Martin Scorscie as executive producer, an important milestone for Indian cinema.
The Cannes Film Festival will take place from 13 May to 24, 2025.
