The cast of Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives graced ART Mumbai 2024 held at the prestigious Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai. The engaging session was hosted by filmmaker and cultural ambassador of ART Mumbai, Karan Johar.

In a lively discussion, Karan Johar explained how art has seamlessly merged into pop culture. In conversation with Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, Bhavana Pandey, Kalyani Chawla, Shalini Pasi and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni to discuss their hit shows, personal dynamics and the evolving perception of art.

Karan Johar adds a touch of entertainment with a pop quiz on art. While Neelam and Seema humorously admitted their lack of art knowledge, the group rejected writer Shobhaa De’s recent criticism. Addressing the same, Maheep shared, “A reputed columnist wrote something about us. I think it’s sad when one woman puts another woman down. But, I have to tell him who reads about him anymore? We’ve given three seasons and it seems like it’s already a blockbuster, so right now I think that’s old too (a comment made by Shobha). Seema also expressed the same views while Bhavana underlined that there is no “too” Shobhaa De is old.

The candid exchanges created a lively dialogue, mixing well with Karan’s humour.

The session underlined Art Mumbai’s commitment to bridging art and pop culture and cementing its place as a must-see event in the city’s cultural calendar. The exhibition featured three art foundations as well as 71 galleries from India and abroad, which presented diverse collections for artists, collectors and art lovers.
