Filmmaker Karan Johar recently watched Kartik Aaryan’s film Chandu Champion and shared his thoughts about it on social media. He found the film “solid, honest and brilliant”. In his note on Instagram, the filmmaker also praised director Kabir Khan’s work and praised Kartik’s acting.

Sharing the poster of the film, Karan wrote, “Kabir Khan has directed this courageous and inspiring life story like a love letter to human emotions.” Praising Kartik, the filmmaker said, “Kartik Aryan has given the best performance of his career with a human and honest portrayal…”

Based on the real-life story of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar, the film stars Kartik as Petkar while actor Vijay Raaz plays his coach. The film also stars Rajpal Yadav and Bhuvan Arora.

On Friday, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal also praised Chandu Champion. Katrina wrote, “Kabir loved the film, you are a great storyteller, you have brought an incredible story to life, I got very emotional after seeing this story and how beautifully you have made this film.”

Meanwhile, the film is doing well at the box office. According to the makers, the film has crossed the Rs 40 crore mark at the ticket counters within a week of its release. Now it remains to be seen how the film performs at the box office over the weekend.

Earlier, there were reports of a rift between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar after the recasting was announced for Dostana 2. The film was originally announced with Kartik, Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya Lalwani as the lead cast.

Recently, Kartik, who has been mum about his exit from the film’s sequel, told Lallantop that he only wants to focus on his work and not talk about any controversy. He said, “I was mum when the news broke and I prefer to stay mum even now. I focus 100% on my work and when such controversies happen, I stay calm. I don’t get too involved in them and I don’t have to prove anything to anyone by getting involved in them.”
