The 53-year-old said industry professionals often make snap decisions about moving from one talent agency to another. Johar expressed his disappointment at the insecurities of the actors.

“Every couple of years people are moving from one agency to another because they’re so insecure that they think we’re tied to time. There’s no loyalty in this business, actors just keep jumping around. So you put two years of your life into a talent, and they suddenly go somewhere else, and then they don’t like it there, and they want to come back to you. It’s a vicious cycle,” he said.

Johar referred to the artists as “nobodies”. He said people are now actively looking for equity partnerships because the commission model is not attractive enough.

“Just doing commissions on artists is not going to get you anything, because artists are nobody. They are nobody at all.” they don’t belong to anyone,” He said.

Johar, who is known for launching and supporting many star kids in the industry, said the talent management business often involves handling the “ego” and “insecurities” of actors – a task which he described as “not easy”.

The filmmaker also stressed that he has created a defense mechanism Against both failure and success. Johar said he is “zen” about the consequences of his decisions, otherwise he would find himself in the “ICU”.

Johar’s agency represents actors like Rohit Saraf, Sara Ali Khan, Shanaya Kapoor and Rasha Thadani.
