Kannada superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa has once again found himself in the middle of a controversy, but this time it is due to the gruesome murder of Renuka Swamy. On June 15, when he and his alleged girlfriend Pavithra Gowda were transferred to the Parappana Agrahara prison, the actor reportedly opened up about meeting the victim.
According to a report in One India, Darshan repeatedly said that he was at a restaurant in Rajarajeshwari Nagar when Renuka Swamy came to Bengaluru from Chitradurga. Reportedly, the victim came to the premises voluntarily and was apologising to the superstar.

According to the report, the actor then went to his shed, where he slapped the victim twice and asked him to apologise. According to the report, he later gave him some money for food and asked him to go back to his hometown. The report mentions that the actor has alleged that others are conspiring against him and accusing him of the crime.
As the investigation into Renuka Swamy’s murder progresses, recent postmortem reports have revealed that the victim was also given electric shocks before she died. According to a report by India Today, sources close to the police have claimed to have information on the postmortem.
The report also gives information about the recently arrested suspect Dhanraj, a cable employee from Mandya who has given detailed information about the torture. This high-profile case is being thoroughly investigated by the Bengaluru police, which has booked 17 people, including Darshan and Pavithra Gowda.
Renuka Swamy murder case
A few days ago, Darshan Thoogudeepa and his alleged girlfriend Pavithra Gowda were arrested by the police for the murder of Renuka Swamy. The victim was a resident of Chitradurga and a fan of the Kannada actor, who had made some derogatory comments against Gowda on social media.
According to the report, in retaliation to the victim’s comments, Pavitra had sought help from the actor, who then allegedly plotted to murder the 33-year-old man. The report also states that the victim was brutally tortured with multiple weapons, allegedly inside the actor’s shed and his body was dumped in a storm drainage.
