Ahead of the release of Suriya’s much-awaited film Kanguva on November 14, 2024, he was called for an interview with Mashable India, where he shared an interesting detail about his blockbuster film Kaakha Kaakha.
In the interview, Surya revealed that at that time his wife Jyothika was paid three times more than him. The actor said, “Kakha kakha, his salary was increased 3 times. I was happy for him, and I realized where I am in life.”
“When someone like her was ready to embark on this journey of life, she was ready to be a part of my life, and her parents were ready. I was realizing what I am earning, what she is earning, and when will I handle myself,” said the actor.
Let us tell you, Kaakha Kaakha is a 2003 Tamil language action thriller film, starring Suriya and Jyothika in the lead roles. The film, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, is the story of an IPS officer named Anbuselvan, who is stone-hearted and works as an ACP in Chennai.
In his courageous efforts to serve and protect, he works to dismantle organized crimes, which leads him to face a dark adversary. On the same lines, she also falls in love with a strong-willed school teacher, which drives the rest of the story. The film also featured Jeevan, Daniel Balaji, Devdarshini, Yoga Jaapi and many other actors in lead roles.
Additionally, the film was also remade in multiple languages, including the Telugu version Gharshana starring Venkatesh Daggubati and the Bollywood remake Force with John Abraham.
Moving forward, Suriya is soon set to be seen in the fantasy action film Kanguva, directed by Siva. The film marks the Tamil debut of actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, who also play the lead roles.
