Actress Kangana Ranaut has once again criticised the film industry. During the promotion of her upcoming film ‘Emergency’, she called Bollywood a ‘depressing’ place and accused it of boycotting talented individuals.
In an interview Mashable IndiaKangana claimed that jealousy in the industry has ruined the careers of many people. The ‘Fashion’ actress said, “Bollywood, honestly, is a very depressing place. Nothing is going to happen to them. Firstly, they are jealous of talent. Whoever they see as talented, they either chase them and finish them off, ruin their career or boycott them. They defame them by doing such dirty PR. (Bollywood is, frankly, a very depressing place. Nothing is going to happen with them. They are jealous of talent. Whoever they see talented, they either eliminate them, ruin their career, or boycott them. They do such dirty PR to defame them).”
Kangana also said, “Only a few people have a problem with me, otherwise, if you look at me, I won an election and the kind of love I got from the industry proves my point. So is the problem with me or them?”
Kangana’s ‘Emergency’, which she has also directed and produced, stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles.
However, the film has faced controversies, with the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Akal Takht demanding an immediate ban, alleging that it attempts to ‘character assassinate’ Sikhs. ‘Emergency’, which was initially postponed multiple times, is now scheduled to release on September 6, 2024.
