Actress-politician Kangana Ranaut wants the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to take an early decision on the release of her political drama Emergency as the delay is causing losses to her and other producers of the film.

while talking to a news agency ANIKangana once again highlighted the lack of support from the film industry during the release of Emergency. She said, “The way I made the film, I did not get any support from the film industry. I am the producer of the film along with other partners. The delayed release is harmful for everyone. Netflix is ​​also calling repeatedly as the film was to be released on the platform after its release in theatres.”

He said, “I think the censor board should take the responsibility to release this film as soon as possible.”

Earlier, Kangana had expressed her disappointment over the lack of support she received from the film industry and compared her experience with films like Padmaavat and Udta Punjab, which received support and were successfully released despite facing threats.

He said, “Films like Padmaavat and Udta Punjab released well despite all the threats, but when it came to my film, no one came forward. I am completely on my own.”

In Emergency, Kangana plays the late Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi during one of the most turbulent times of the country. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair and the late Satish Kaushik. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film’s music is composed by Sanchit Balhara, Ankit Balhara and GV Prakash Kumar, while the screenplay and dialogues are written by Ritesh Shah. The film was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on 6 September; however, the release was postponed after protests from a certain section of society.
