Kangana Ranaut refuses to work with Khans and Akshay Kumar: Their films are prototypes
Actress-politician Kangana Ranaut in a latest podcast shared the reason why she has not worked with the Khans, Akshay Kumar and Ranbir Kapoor.

Actress-politician Kangana Ranaut revealed that she turned down offers to work in films starring Ranbir Kapoor and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. The actress, who has not worked with many top Bollywood actors, revealed that it was a conscious decision not to work with Khan, Kumar and Kapoor.
In a recent podcast with Raj Shamani, Kangana spoke openly about her decision to make her place in Bollywood Without appearing in films with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar or Ranbir Kapoor. She said that films starring these actors usually follow a pattern where women are restricted to a few scenes and a few songs, which they have no interest in doing.
Kangana said, “I refused Khan-dominated films. All the Khans are very good to me, they are very kind to me and they have never misbehaved with me. Yes, there are people who have misbehaved with me, but Khans were not among them. But I refused their films because their films are prototypical in which the heroine will have two scenes and a song. So I said I don’t want to do that. I want to be an example of a woman who is an A-lister, a top-most actor who has not worked with the Khans.”
She said, “I wanted to do my best for the women who were going to come after me and no Khan can make you successful, no Kumar can make you successful, no Kapoor can make you successful. I refused Ranbir Kapoor films, I refused Akshay Kumar films. I didn’t want to be the prototype that only a hero can make a heroine successful. It’s not like that, you can be successful on your own as well. I set that example.”
After her success in ‘Queen’, and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’,Kangana Ranaut focuses on women-centric roles. She has also starred in films like ‘Outfit’ and ‘Thalaivi, In which no A-list Bollywood star was included.
The actress is now looking forward to her upcoming film ‘Emergency’. The film is based on the Emergency imposed in India during the rule of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the early 1980s. Apart from playing the role of the Congress leader, Kangana is also directing the film.
