Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut has criticized actor Sonu Sood by sharing a post on her X handle. He has defended a food vendor who spit on a customer’s food. Sonu is facing criticism for his statement in which he compared the food vendor to Shabri Prasanga of Ramayana.

Taking a dig at Sonu Sood, Kangana wrote on Instagram, “Next time you know Sonu Ji will direct Ramayan based on his personal conclusions about God and religion. Wow Bollywood Another Ramayana (Thus).”

The original post read, “Shocking news Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has justified spitting in people’s food. He compared a miscreant spitting in food to Lord Rama eating Shabari’s berries. He said ‘If Lord Rama can eat Shabari’s berries, why can’t he eat rotis that are spit on?’ He defended the act of spitting, calling it an act of ‘humanity’. He said ‘Humanity must prevail.’

Let us tell you that the controversy started when an X user posted a clip in which a boy was spitting on the flour while making roti. This video was a response to Sonu Sood’s post in which he talked about a new rule for restaurants located on the Kanwar Yatra route to publicly display the names of their owners.

Reacting to the post, a user commented, “The spit-covered roti should be sent to Sonu Sood, so that the brotherhood remains intact.”

Sonu replied, “Our Shri Ram ji ate the sour berries of Shabri, so why can’t I? Violence can be defeated by non-violence my brother. Humanity must remain intact. Jai Shri Ram.”

Meanwhile, on the film front, Sonu Sood will next be seen in the cyber crime thriller ‘Fateh’. It also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Naseeruddin Shah. The film will release at the end of the year.

On the other hand, Kangana will next be seen in ‘Emergency’. The film will release in theatres on September 7.
